The Jackson Madison County Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) received its charter approval by the NAACP National Board of Directors on June 14, 1948. After recent research, it has been discovered that the branch may have received a previous charter approval as early as 1922. Based upon this discovery, the Branch is in its Centennial year for 2022!
